Apply for the Telus Technology Incubator by Dec 7

TELUS and CTI have launched InnOvaTion, the incubator for early stage IoT startups. The 8-week program will host 10 startups in both Calgary and Vancouver from January to March 2019. It will offer a combination of education and advice from TELUS, CTI and industry experts through classroom sessions, 1:1 advisory and fieldwork. By the end of the program, each graduating startup will be equipped to make the relevant connectivity choice, as well as formulate a go to market strategy that leads to a potential pilot or first customer.

A network built for IoT

TELUS is ushering in a new era of connectivity with a network purpose-built for IoT solutions. The TELUS LTE-M Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) Network (LPWAN) connects directly to a cellular network designed to use minimal power to transmit small amounts of data, providing extensive reach to devices in many more environments.

  • Improved performance through long range connectivity and extended battery life

  • Licensed cellular standards-based technology offering quality of service, reliability and carrier-grade security

  • Network availability across BC and AB, around major centres in MB, and in ON, QC and Atlantic Canada

What we're looking for

Early stage IoT startups. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these things to connect, collect and exchange data. Categories may include: asset tracking, digital signage, failover, fleet management, logistics, lone worker, remote monitoring, security, platforms, and professional services.

Startups with a minimum viable product (MVP) that are incorporated in Alberta or British Columbia are invited to apply. Promising startups that don't have an MVP will be added to the pipeline for future InnOvaTion incubators.
