Techstars Energy Accelerator in partnership with Equinor is a 13 week intensive accelerator for those who work on disruptive solutions within oil and gas, renewables, new business models and digitalisation – details are available at https://www.techstars.equinor.com/en/about.html.
The Techstars Energy Accelerator in Oslo started last year and took in 10 companies from around the world (2 were from Calgary Crux OCM and Interface Fluidics ). The full story can be found at Startup Calgary.
On the shoulder of Propel, on Feb 5 in Calgary, Global Affairs Canada and ACTia are arranging an event where Alberta's clean technology companies can meet with representatives from Techstars Energy and Equinor, and make a pitch to participate in the next cohort of the accelerator.
Aim: offer Albertan early stage technology companies in the oil and gas, cleantech, AI, digitalization and new business model areas the opportunity to apply to pitch to the Techstars Energy accelerator leadership. Techstars will review the list of applicants and make the decision on whom they will meet with on Feb 5.
Benefit: If selected to join the Techstars accelerator, successful start-ups get to access Equinor, KONGSBERG, McKinsey and Techstars resources, and their global network of expertise to fast track their business. Up to USD$120,000 is invested in the ten selected start-ups that are determined to disrupt the energy industry and shape energy platforms for the future.
Event: The format will take the shape of 20 minute meetings with each of the potential candidates. If the numbers are large, we will look at changing the format of the event to accommodate. Venue tbc.
