About Geeky Summit

Geeky Summit is a two-day conference to recognize and celebrate women advancing technology. In addition to inspiring speakers, we’re running hands-on technical workshops to provide practical learning opportunities so our audience walks away with the tools to start their own business, initiative or project to improve the community around them.

Design Your Work

This year's theme is Design Your Work. In a human lifetime, on average, we will work for 92,120 hours. Our career is a huge part of our lives and it’s an easy thing to put first, at the expense of our health, relationships or self-identity. Design Your Work is about identifying meaningful professional goals so you can design an intentional career that supports a healthy and whole life too. Take a stand and Design Your Work. Don’t let it design you.

Be inspired on Friday by speakers including:

  • Pamela Slim, Author of Body of Work

  • Katie Womersley, Director of Engineering at Buffer

  • Nora Young, Host of CBC Radio’s Spark

Build your tech talent Saturday in one of these four workshops:

  • Data Science Explorations and Applications with Cybera

  • Code like Coco Chanel with STEM Learning Lab

  • Capture the Flag! Learn Web Security with Cisco

  • Digitally Design Yourself with Bow Valley College
