Hosted by The Nucleus Calgary
Join us for a debrief by Benny Giang on the non-ICO success of CryptoKitties, one of the first large-scale revenue-positive distributed apps on the Ethereum blockchain. Since launch on November 28, their marketplace has already processed over $10,000,000 in transactions. Depending on the crowd we'll talk more in the general sense of what blockchain is and its applications. If people are already knowledgeable about the blockchain then we'll focus more on cryptocollectibles.

As the resident growth hacker at Axiom Zen, Benny spearheads framework for growth experiments, all the while lending his smart strategic decisionmaking across the company.
Benny attended the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary before shifting his focus towards a BA Psychology with a minor in management and society. He took a semester off to take on a bigger role at Glacier, a high growth social enterprise company—and the role grew so big, he never went back. Instead, he rose to become their top employee, scaling their operations for a Canada-wide launch and growing the team to match. He developed their logistics and supply chain network and built a university matchmaking app for students that secured a paid pilot in only ten months.
From there Benny brought his skills to Lightship, an enterprise IIOT company that provides live equipment- and worker-tracking on industrial worksites. He developed their content marketing strategy from the ground up, refined their outbound sales funnel, email campaigns, and established partnerships with engineering consulting firms.
Now Benny combines those skills across the board, creating Axiom Zen’s first framework for growth experiments. He launched Toby on Product Hunt, and was an integral part of the team who has seen it grow to over 100,000 users in just ten months. From there he went on to launched a closed beta program to 20 companies including IBM, Twitter, Starbucks, and Bazaarvoice. Now he’s managing our PPC channels and working with the talent marketing team—when he isn’t flying to Silicon Valley to promote Toby and pursuing mentors with the same dogged determination he applies to every project he undertakes.
