Peer2Peer Ambassador


Peer2Peer Ambassadors are committed to growing the grassroots of the startup community by sharing your knowledge and experience with the up and coming founders.



  • Represent the startup community at events

  • Answer questions associated with the startup community

  • Provide appropriate feedback

  • Other mentoring duties as required

  • Support facilitators at workshops and other formal events

  • Assist attendees at workshops


  • A leadership role in a startup (ie: founder/co-founder, CTO, etc) or startup support organization

  • Be friendly, outgoing and patient

  • Knowledge of value proposition, customer discovery, business model canvas, funding and finance options

  • Strong communication skills

  • Can do, attitude - no job is too small

  • Peer2Peer Ambassadors must commit to a minimum of 40 hours per-year.



  • Apply to the Peer2Peer Ambassador program

  • Complete the online application form and accept the volunteer waiver and confidentiality agreement.

  • If selected, attend a interview

  • Once approved determine which events you want to be an Ambassador for

    • Startup Drinks (last Wednesday of the month)

    • Startup Weekend mentor early stage teams from idea to MVP

    • Workshops

  • Attend Peer2Peer Ambassador training

  • Review the Startup Community 101 presentation

  • Sign up for volunteer shifts via google doc

  • Notify Startup Calgary if you cannot fulfill your commitment

  • Park the ego - this is a beginner friendly, educational environment
