Communications Volunteer


Communications Volunteers are committed to amplifying stories in Calgary’s startup community and guiding the community through their entrepreneurial journey.



  • Promote Startup Calgary events via personal social media channels

  • Contribute featured content for Startup Calgary’s social media channels

  • Attend events and assist with live video and photography


  • Clear, concise and creative communication

  • Knowledge of language used in the startup community

  • Interest in attending startup community events

  • Strong personal brand and social media presence


  • Attend at least 1 Startup Calgary event

  • Complete the online application form and accept the volunteer waiver and confidentiality agreement

  • Subscribe as a Community Member on our homepage and review the Startup Community 101 guide

  • If selected, attend an interview

  • Sign up for volunteer shifts via Google doc, committing to a minimum of 15 hours per year

  • Notify Startup Calgary ASAP if you can no longer fulfill your commitment
