Communications Volunteers are committed to amplifying stories in Calgary’s startup community.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Startup Calgary events via personal social media channels

  • Attend events and assist with live video and photography

Qualifications

  • Have clear, concise and creative communication

  • Knowledge of language used in the startup community

  • Interest in attending startup community events

  • Strong personal brand and social media presence

  • Communications Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 40 hours per-year.

Expectations

  • Apply for the Communications Volunteer role

  • Complete the online application form and accept the volunteer waiver and confidentiality agreement.

  • If selected, attend a interview

  • Attend Communications Volunteer training

  • Review the Startup Community 101 presentation

  • Sign up for volunteer shifts

  • Notify Startup Calgary if you cannot fulfill your commitment
